TDA in Boulder created out this wicked smaat packet to be sent to Emmy voters for Burn Notice on USA.

There’s no visible writing whatsoever until you look under the flashlight where you read:
Steps:
1. Use this flashlight to reveal hidden text.
2. Deny you ever used this flashlight.
Then, when you run the UV light over the package you get the joke:

It’s got info on the show, a picture of the star and four dvds for judges to watch. Great stuff. I can only imagine how much cool spy shit they thought up before they decided on this.

AgencySpy had a quick sit-down with Steve & Jared from Stick & Move in Philly. Up top is their new spot for Leatherman. Down below is a video they did for Powerade featuring two former champs - Ryan Howard & Vlad Guerrero getting ready for the Homerun Derby…at a golf course.
I had the unique pleasure of having ECD Steve as my very first copywriting teacher in Miami. Too bad I sucked hard and didn’t keep in touch. Nice move, Mike.

With a very stern looking John Slattery peering at you, you’ll see that MadMen CD Don Draper has jumped on the Twitter bandwagon. Twittering as don_draper, he gets into inter-office politics
@patchchord - What happens inside Sterling Cooper and between departments is not something I care to discuss with outsiders.
Sterling Cooper’s new business plans
@whitcombj - Henry Wofford won’t be fooled twice. Other than that, I can’t talk about our potential new business plans.
and even shares concepting strategies
@BetaRish - I try not to eat in the office. I go out and grab a bite if I get hungry. The change of scenery helps uncover new perspectives.
Actually, in typical Don Draper style, he doesn’t reveal much. I love how they don’t even address the small discrepancy in technology or time travel. But, it’s a really smart way for shows to extend the experience and get people involved. SMRT AMC. But. the thing that got me was in his bio, you’ll have to click the thumbnail to see:

Where does his website take you to?
http://www.amctv.com/originals/madmen/
Come on AMC! Go the extra mile and make the fake website! Put up your client list & agency bios & portfolios. Put up a job recruitment site. Talk about a missed opportunity!
Thanks Daryl

I’ve had Barry Schwartz’ book The Paradox of Choice in my Amazon Wish List for months now. And after watching his speech at TED, I want to run out and grab it immediately.
Here’s the basics behind his theory:
Psychologist Barry Schwartz takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz’s estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied.
It’s something that I’ve thought about a lot recently. Especially when we go to the supermarket. Walk down any aisle and you’re bombarded with options. Company’s try and stay relevant by offering different variations on old formulas - add some vitamins, take out some saturated fat, swap out the smell. You compare options and price and features and, in the end, you’re no better off.
The sad thing is, I don’t know what to do about it. Maybe the book will help. Thanks to Designverb.

I think I know where my next chunk of spending money is going - straight to Jamungo for Crappy Cat. It’s a cat, with an eye patch, V-Neck sweater & tie and an almost-finished six-pack.

This, my bitches, is a recipe for success. Pics courtesy of Plastic and Plush.

hello everybody, how the hell are you? Many many apologies for the disappearance. Six posts in the month is unexcusable for any self-respecting blogger - work was hell for a long stretch and I was just plain burnt out. But, I think I’ve got a few seconds to breathe, so I’m back to finding stuff not to send you. So stick around.
Travis Louie & Pressure Printing came together to create “Bride of Stan.”

It’s an amazing piece of handmade work. Pressure Printing outlines the intricate process step-by-step for us at their blog. I don’t want to ruin the joy of watching it being born, but I will share this one picture of them pulling the hand-cast resin frame from it’s mold.

Here are a few more of Travis’ pieces:

Definitely check out the process. The amount of care & love that goes into making this thing is downright inspirational. If you’d rather just jump ahead and buy one, head to Hi-Fructose and have $350 ready.
