Green is one of the best-known Jewish-American major league ballplayers. Of Jewish major leaguers, only Hank Greenberg, with 331 home runs and 1,276 RBIs, has more major league home runs and RBIs than Green, and only Buddy Myer has more hits. Green has opted to miss games on Yom Kippur, even when his team was in the middle of a playoff race. Green is arguably the best Jewish baseball player since Sandy Koufax.
Goodbye Shawn. Passover‘s coming up & we’re gonna leave for Cup for Elijah and a Cup for Shawn. Just in case you’re in the neighborhood.
