Artists Luke Bartels & Jeff Canham came up with these gorgeous & witty bird houses. Considering the only actual home is foreclosed, they’re actually all bird businesses.

I first heard about The Social Network, the facebook movie, I almost swallowed my tongue. It’s a movie about a website? Sounds amazing, I’ll be first in line .

But, then I heard Fincher was directing it.

And then I saw the poster:

And now, I heard (quite literally) that Trent fucking Reznor is doing the score – what is going on here?! Take a listen to one of the tracks. It’s typical Reznor – haunting & atmospheric.

Before you get all freaked out, little Tommy isn’t about to off himself, he’s actually mowing down on a delicious icy treat.

In 2003, Florian Jenett and Valentin Beinroth placed about 50 handgun replicas in downtown Frankfurt. The guns were made from tinted ice, making them look real at first sight.

In 2009 they did a new edition of their Freeze! project but made the guns eatable edible by using coke, licorice, cherry and food coloring.

Oh those wacky Germans. I could’ve come up with a smarmy intro to that picture, but I think the visual is a lot to swallow on it’s own. Hey-OH!

Freakonomics the movie

Hey everyone, long time no speak. Looks like I went on another one of my month-long disappearances again. So much for building an audience :/ I’m back again, hopefully for a nice, long stretch.

Jason Kottke posted the trailer for the new Freakonomics movie and I figured that’d be a perfect way to dip my toe back into blogging.

It’s got smarts, smart-asses and beautiful motion graphics – I’m sold. AND it’s debuting on iTunes before theatres. Anyone want to come over & watch with me on September 3rd?
